At Landsec, we believe increasing diversity across our industry and supporting local communities is essential to the future of the places we create.
What is Landsec Futures?
Landsec Futures is a £20m fund that aims to deliver around £200m of social value by 2030, supporting at least 30,000 people from underrepresented socio-economic backgrounds towards long-term employment. It will also provide the chance to increase the diversity of talent across the industry and in our business.
The fund reflects our approach to sustainability (Build well, Live well, Act well), and is an important step towards delivering our purpose: delivering sustainable places, connecting communities and realising potential.
Given the vibrant cultures we work with every day across our portfolio, we see that there’s significant opportunity to encourage voices within those communities, empowering them to lead change in the places they know the best.

Industry programmes will help us create opportunities for talented young people from a variety of backgrounds to discover their potential in real estate despite the barriers they have traditionally faced.
Real estate bursaries will provide a unique opportunity to increase the diversity of talent across the industry and in our business.
We’ll be offering these in partnership with universities around the UK, available to candidates meeting social mobility criteria who are applying for specific real estate courses.

We’ve launched Landsec Internships – exciting new opportunities for young people to join our business with six months of paid work experience.
Candidates are given training, learning and development opportunities and a London Living Wage salary of £22,837.50 (pro-rata for 6 months). Landsec Internships are entry level, meaning it doesn’t matter if candidates have any work experience, what school they went to, or if they went to university.
Every three years, we’ll open the opportunity to apply for funded grants to support charity and community partners local to our places. These three-year programmes will work with people from underrepresented socio-economic backgrounds to inspire them to consider careers in real estate and help them into work.
Please note applications have now closed. To register your interest, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Community grants will be available for local charities to increase funding for challenges specific to our local communities. These unrestricted grants of up to £3,000 are designed to support not-for-profit organisations with daily activities. Funding opportunities will be transparent, with a shortlist created by the Charities Aid Foundation, and reviewed by community grants panels built from members local to each of our places. This will provide inside perspectives of what funding will make the greatest impact in each area, empowering the local community to make future-forward decisions.
We’ll be offering four funding rounds each year.
Our first round of applications for Community Grants have now closed. Round two applications will open on 3rd July 2023.
