We are delivering our strategy through a suite of ambitious targets, and have established ourselves as a global sustainability leader in our sector through strong sustainability performance over the past decade.
Learn moreIn an ever-changing world, it is important that we understand and respond to the shifting global challenges that may influence our business and the issues that matter most to our stakeholders.
In 2021/22 we engaged over 230 customers, investors, community groups and colleagues, listening to what they believe are the issues we should be prioritising and addressing. We then ranked these issues according to their importance to our business (relevance to the delivery of our corporate strategy and how we create value in the short, medium and long-term) and their importance to our stakeholders.
Climate change and sustainable design (including resource efficiency)
Business ethics (health, safety and wellbeing and human rights)
Diversity and inclusion
These material issues are reflected in our principal risks where we monitor progress against Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and ensure mitigation actions are in place. Please see our Annual Report for more information.
Our strategy and materiality review updates are assessed by our Executive Leadership Team and Board, and are reviewed every two years, or in light of significant organisational change.
In 2019 we became a signatory to the UN Global Compact (UNGC), a voluntary initiative which brings together leading businesses committed to UN goals and universal sustainability principles.
Mark Allan, Chief Executive of Landsec, said: "I am pleased to confirm that Landsec reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and AntiCorruption. In our annual Communication on Progress (COP), we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations."
We have mapped our sustainability programme to the SDGs to ensure our priorities are in line with the wider world. You can find all of our sustainability commitments and how they align with the SDG’s.
